From English / French to Chinese
Previously trained as a historian of the modern world, I have translated several books, including my favoriate historian Marc Bloch's L'Étrange Défaite, a testimony of the French defeat in 1940, written before he was executed by the Gestapo, and Samuel Moyn's The Last Utopia: Human Rights in History.
Hiking & Camping
Into the Nature
Before I went to North America, I have already travelled to 23 provinces in China. My most memorable trip was to the Greater Khingan, where I walked for 423 km with no mobile phone signal, but occational wild wolves. Today, my favoriate hiking place is Banff, Alberta.
Music
"Better to burn out than to fade away."
Influenced by Nirvana, Guns & Roses, Linkin Park, Oasis, Coldplay, I played in a band for several years back in college. I love to listen to music while I'm working - Rock for running regressions, acoustic for crafting papers, and some Yo-Yo Ma for writing response letters!
